It's Fall Break! Yikes, What are you doing?

So, here it is the eve of Fall Break. My husband just asked me..."What are you doing tomorrow?" To which I replied, "I have no idea." Now, that is really bad seeing that I am a pretty planned mom- have you noticed I have a whole blog devoted to fun things to do? Still and yet, I have hit a dry spell, a writers block if you will, and I am ready to just hang out with my kids. Play games. Stay in our pajamas. Eat popcorn for breakfast if they want. It's ok.

It might be obvious that I have not posted anything in two weeks either. ouch. My apologies to the blogosphere. But, let's be honest. By about 4:00 tomorrow my brain will be akin to the substance of Jell-O, so I better have some fun things in my back pocket. Thus, my attempt to get the ole blog going again!

Since we are all about saving money these days, I am going to capitalize on the things I have already invested in and PAY NO MORE- (nod to the voice of the Vols.)

Idea #1 Go to Sprout. I have a membership, and the place is just so fun for my little ones. For those with kids that are "too old" find someone with younger children and let them "babysit" so they can have an excuse to play the fun things they secretly long to do still. A win-win situation. This week, you can come in costume and receive $2 off the price of admission.

Idea #2 Go to the Zoo! We love this membership which we have purchased the past two years. It is way worth the cost, and my kids truly love the Kids Cove. Don't forget Boo at the Zoo is this weekend starting on Thursday, Oct. 23 - 26. This is the 22nd year for this fete- so it has to be good! It is fun, but word to the wise, wear comfy shoes!

Idea #3 Host a Movie Night/Day with your kids. Trust me, if you can find the time to just lollygag around with your kids and spend time with them- it will be a worthwhile investment. Check out this link for 13 not so scary Halloween movies to watch. Since you WILL be making popcorn, check out this recipe for Halloween Popcorn Balls- fun to make and eat!

Idea #4 This year we bit the bullet and bought passes to Dollywood. A little chunk of change?...yes. Worth every penny?.....yes! My kids have a ball there, so me and 3000 of my closest friends will make the trek there. Don't forget, they are closed on Thursdays during the month of October

Ahhh. Now that I have somewhat of a plan, I feel a little better. If you have any ideas, please share! Now, go FIFE up FALL Break.
